How Colleen Grazioso Turned Everyday Moments into a Legacy of Memories

Stack of personal photo books Colleen Grazioso created using Mimeo Photos.

For Colleen Grazioso, photo books are more than a way to display pictures — they’re her diary, her memory keeper, her family's story, preserved one page at a time.

A Mimeo Photos customer since 2019, Colleen has completed more than 50 photo book projects. But her journey began long before that, more than 20 years ago when she picked up her first digital camera.

“I create photo books. Lots and lots of photo books,” she said. “They’ve become the way I document my life, and my family’s life.”

A Seamless Shift from Apple to Mimeo

Like many long-time Mac users, Colleen first designed her photo books through Apple’s Aperture software. When that platform was discontinued, she looked for a replacement that wouldn’t disrupt her creative process.

She found it in Mimeo Photos.

“Mimeo had the same layouts I was used to. It felt like a natural transition,” Colleen explained. “It works seamlessly with my iPhone photos. One-stop shopping — it’s just easy.”

That simplicity meant she could stay focused on what mattered most: capturing the small, beautiful moments that tell the story of a life.

Preserving the Little Details That Matter Most

What makes Colleen’s photo books so meaningful isn’t just the big milestones, it’s the ordinary moments she never wants to forget.

“I use them to remember all the little details,” she said. “A favorite restaurant. A favorite t-shirt. The color of my daughter’s room. Camp friends. The name of her sixth-grade teacher.”

For Colleen, Mimeo Photos has become a tool for mindfulness. She often takes pictures with specific layouts in mind, using Mimeo’s pre-made designer themes as a creative guide.

“I’m not the best photographer,” she said. “But having the layouts helps me focus on what I actually want to remember about a moment in time. Mimeo Photos helps me be more present.”

Each book is a chapter in her family’s story — a time capsule filled with joy, growth, and real life.

A Tangible Archive for the Next Generation

In a time when there are so many fleeting digital memories, Colleen still prints her photos — and for good reason.

“Software changes. Files get deleted. But a photo book? That lasts,” she said.

Her shelves now hold years of carefully curated memories. For her children, they’re more than books, they’re a way to reconnect with their past.

“My kids love pulling an old book off the shelf and flipping through it with their friends. No middleman required.”

And for Colleen, there’s comfort in knowing her family’s memories are safe, accessible, and beautifully preserved.

“My photo books help me rest easy, knowing that even if my memory goes, all the juicy bits are documented — ready to be shared.”
